Cynthia Nixon Fans Try to Storm Sex Set

Filming for the Sex And the City sequel had to be halted on Wednesday (02Sep09) after hysterical fans tried to overpower security to get closer to Cynthia Nixon.

The actress, as well as leading lady Sarah Jessica Parker and her onscreen husband, played by Chris Noth, hit New York earlier this week (begs31Aug09) to film scenes for the second instalment of the hit movie.

Followers of the cult show and film are surrounding the set in a bid to catch a glimpse of the glamorous stars, and film chiefs have had to step up security to protect the actors.

But over-eager fans caused havoc on Wednesday, forcing bosses to axe a scene Nixon was due to star in because of fears over her safety.

A source tells New York Daily News, "People were screaming and trying to push past guards. The fans were just too much. Security looked legitimately concerned for her (Nixon's) safety."

And Parker and Noth's presence has also caused a stir on the streets of the Big Apple.

The insider adds, "They looked more like they were protecting the president.

"At one point, teenage girls were practically trampling each other trying to get to Sarah Jessica as she was walking back to her trailer, but her security team was shoving everyone out of the way."

But the heavy-handed security team upset Parker, who reportedly asked them not to "hurt her fans." The insider continues, "She looked upset and extremely concerned. The guards were getting pretty rough."

The original movie, which was released last year (08), has earned more than $415 million (£276 million) worldwide.

Queen of Pop Madonna's Sticky and Sweet world tour is said to have made the highest amount ever earned by a solo artist grossing at 408 million dollars, revealed promoters Live Nation.

Madge, 51, had played her last gig on September 2 in Israel, after performing in 32 countries.

And she is said to have broken her own record, set by her Confessions tour, which was named the all-time top in 2006, after it made 194 million dollars.

"She is absolutely one of the great performers of all time ," the BBC quoted Arthur Fogel, from Live Nation, as saying.

"That this tour will take its place as the second highest grossing tour in the history of our business says it all," he added.

The Rolling Stone s' Bigger Bang tour, which ran from 2005 to 2007, is the highest grossing tour of all time, with an earning of 558 million dollars.

Madonna played 85 shows, and even set an attendance record for the biggest crowds in history in Zurich, Switzerland, where she drew 72,000 fans.

A New York tattoo parlour is facing a fine for allowing Rihanna to ink her initials and an umbrella design onto three members of staff.

The Umbrella hitmaker was spotted wielding a needle at Manhattan's EastSide Ink in July (09), and reportedly etched her personalised image ontothree resident artists.

Now the store's owners are facing a fine of between $200-$2,000 (£125-£1,250), according to Tmz.

Rumer Willis' Fighting Thrill

Rumer Willis rang her dad when she learned to fire a gun.

The actress was so thrilled with the action skills she learned while filming 'Sorority Row', she couldn't wait to tell 'Die Hard' star Bruce Willis.

She said: "I'm actually really excited about doing this. I called dad after I did it and I was like, 'Dad, I felt so bada*s when I did this.'

"I would love to do more stuff like that. It's so much fun, but I was definitely a little nervous."
