While Lindsay Lohan’s upcoming role as 1970s adult-film star Linda Lovelace might seem like a career boost for the young fallen star, her father, Michael Lohan, believes it’s nothing more than a big mistake.
“Please, don’t give me this ‘craft’ or ‘artistic’ BS,” the senior Lohan complained to Radar Online about his daughter’s part in the production. “Mark my words, it’s a blunder and the film will flop.”
In addition to a predicting Lindsay’s box-office failure, her media-friendly father blamed his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, and her supposed support team for the destruction of their little girl’s career.
“Look at the films she did, and the career she had while she had a mother and father in her life,” he said. “I’m talking about ‘Parent Trap’ through ‘Mean Girls.’ Then look at everything after she had only her mother in her life. You and your ‘team’ have done and continue to do a great job, Dina.”
Once the requisite round of Dina-bashing came to an end, Michael Lohan returned to his regular message of late, reminding the world of his quest to see LiLo return to rehab.
“Regardless, Lindsay doesn’t need to be looking at or doing any films, music or anything right now, she needs REHAB!” the estranged dad insisted. “She will never be herself or be able to perform to the best of her ability, as long as she is on prescription medication!”
Gibson’s ex claims they dated for years
Although their romance is now a thing of the past, the mother of Mel Gibson’s youngest child wants the world to know she was with the star much longer than most believed. Oksana Grigorieva spoke to Hello! magazine to clear up the misconception.
“The reasons (for the breakup) I cannot talk about, but it will come out at some point,” the aspiring musician explained. “The truth always comes out. We’ve been together for three years — not one year as people have been writing. So over the past three years, there have been a lot of untruths, written by the yellow press mostly.”
In fairness, the confusion on the part of the “yellow press” may have come from the fact that Gibson and Grigorieva only publicly unveiled their relationship just over a year ago, shortly after Gibson’s wife of 29 years filed for divorce. While Grigorieva is unwilling to discuss how her own time with the actor-director came to an end, she opened up about how Gibson “wooed” her in the first place.
“He wrote me a lot of poetry,” Grigorieva explained. “It was very beautiful, impressionistic, like an edgy, modern iambic pentameter. Mel has a really good grasp of language, he’s fantastic with words.”
