This one is not for kids, even if Harry Potter has had a huge kids following, alongside the adult one! Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, Part 1' actor Emma Watson has not shared an innocent kiss with her series co-star Daniel Radcliffe only. Daniel, in a candid show with music and entertainment channel MTV has shared that both himself and Emma had to strip for the scene!
While you may be screeching with the question “why did they do that!” after watching the movie, we are equally clueless! Daniel says that the day before they were to shoot it, his director had informed him of this weird idea of being naked. For grace’s sake or for sake of getting an all-age certificate, Emma was given a silver-colored bra for the shot.
And what does Daniel have to say about the scene and the chemistry they shared over it? He’s all cool. He’s gone to the extent of saying that the kiss was as simple as kissing his sibling only! Now that, we say, is some statement! Daniel, who has no sister of his own, says, the absence of one in his life makes him think it was so simple, and, passion-less!
But then, at another interview, he has said that Emma was all charged up and behaved like an ‘animal’ (you may read: passionate) while the scene was being shot. Well then, why this back-tracking Daniel?
Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe and his co-star Emma Watson have different opinions about their recent on-screen kiss.
While Radcliffe said it was 'vigorous and enjoyable', Watson found the experience 'awkward'.
The actress has admitted it was made tricky after producers told her at the last minute the snog was to be topless.
"I forgot how full-on it was until I saw the movie, and I was like, ''Blimey, where did that come from?'' It was really full-on," the Sun quoted her as saying.
"It was only the day before that they said, ''Oh, by the way, we hope it's all right, but we want you to be topless, and we're going to cover you in silver paint''.
"It was awkward enough as it was without the silver paint and the strapless bra, but whatever.
"It was like some weird social experiment," she said.
However, she added: "He is a good kisser. I can definitely vouch for that."
'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson has apparently slammed the popular 'Twilight' series for selling sex. The 22-year-old actress, who reprises her role as Hermione in the upcoming 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part I, condemned the rival franchise during a conference call with journalists.
"This kiss between Hermione and Ron [Weasley played by co-star Rupert Grint] is highly anticipated, it's been building up for eight films now," the New York Daily News quoted her as telling OK Magazine. "And Harry Potter is not 'Twilight,' you know'. We're not selling sex," she added.
Watson had been addressing the long-gestating romance between Hermione and Ron, leading up to a kiss. Although it is a fan favourite from the book, Watson admitted it was uncomfortable for her and Grint to shoot. "In fact, it was horribly awkward; we couldn't stop laughing," she said.
For actress Emma Watson, the end of Harry Potter film franchise is like “someone is dying”. The 20-year-old, who launched her screen career as a child playing the character Hermione Granger, said the eight-part film series had been an “emotional” journey.
At the National Movie Awards, the cast and producers revealed they were in the last two weeks of shooting the final instalment of the saga. Co-star Daniel Radcliffe, 20, also echoed Watson’s sadness, saying he would be “devastated” when filming ends. However, he said that the films marked his transition to adulthood.
The pair was speaking at the function, where they collected the Special Recognition prize for the series and the Family award for ‘Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince’. “None of us could say that we predicted this kind of love and recognition. It's just incredible,” the Telegraph quoted Watson as saying.
“I'm just so unbelievably proud to have been part of this. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Just watching the compilation of all the past films was really emotional for me. I feel like someone's dying, I know that sounds like an exaggeration but I really do. I'm not planning to do anything this summer - I'm going to need time to collect myself and get myself back together a bit. So I'll take a bit of a break,” she added.
Speaking on life after Hogwarts, Radcliffe added: “It's going to be bizarre. I'm going to be devastated. It's going to be very, very sad because it's been such an important part of my life. There will never be one scene in any of the Harry Potters
that, when I watch it, won't trigger a series of memories about what that day was about and what I was doing. So everything is so linked to my life and growing up. But at the same time, it will be exciting. It puts a pretty nice punctuation mark on my adolescence. I feel grown-up now.”
Emma Watson feels blessed to have J.K. Rowling in her life.
The 'Harry Potter' actress - who plays clever student Hermione Granger in the movie franchise - has grown close to the author behind the boy wizard books and enjoys working with her.
She said: "In the earlier years she was still writing the books and also had a young child, so she was really busy. But now she can be more involved and it's more of a pleasure. She has been around more, and we are quite similar in a way, so she has been nice to talk to. She's been very caring and is genuinely a really lovely woman. It's just wonderful to have her in my life."
But now she can be more involved and it's more of a pleasure
The 19-year-old beauty also admitted she will have a "big hole" in her life when the 'Harry Potter' films come to an end but she is confident the franchise will continue to entertain future generations.
She explained: "Yes, there will be a big hole. But I think you underestimate the longevity of the series. I think they are making a theme park and new generations of children will keep reading the books and hopefully watching the films - everyone has tried to make sure they'll be classics."
Emma Watson was terrified of laughing during her kissing scene with Rupert Grint.
The 'Harry Potter' actress battled through an urge to burst into giggles when she kissed Rupert Grint for the finale of the wizard film franchise and considers the scene to be one of the movie's most comedic moments.
She said: "We were both really nervous about laughing and not being able to take it seriously.
"It was awkward for both of us because we are like siblings - imagine growing up with someone since you were nine.
"It's strange, but I think Rupert and I both really enjoy doing comedy and getting the chance to do that because a lot of the film is so dark and really serious."
The kiss is the finale. I don't want to give too much away... I don't want to ruin it.
The 19-year-old British starlet - who plays the role of Hermione Granger - recently filmed her final scenes with Rupert for the last wizard movie, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'.
Emma says it was nerve-wracking to lock lips with Rupert - who plays Ron Weasley - on camera.
She explained: "We broke the ice by both of us confessing just how nervous we were about doing it, and because we were both in exactly the same boat, we felt exactly the same way about doing it. It was a relief to know we were both going through the same thing.
"The kiss is the finale. I don't want to give too much away... I don't want to ruin it."
